Dr. Majda Hadziahmetovic


Dr. Hadziahmetovic is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University. She is a board-certified and fellowship-trained retinal ophthalmologist and clinician-scientist. Her research integrates retinal clinical care with cutting-edge technologies to enhance patient outcomes. Dr. Hadziahmetovic specializes in using machine learning to assess retinal pathology and predict disease progression and treatment responses. She is also committed to advancing retinal care accessibility through different teleophthalmology initiatives. She leads clinical research on various retinal conditions and treatments and mentors residents and fellows throughout her work. As the principal investigator of multiple retina-related clinical trials, Dr. Hadziahmetovic's research is supported by multiple investigator-initiated grants, including fundings from the NIH.
