Dr. Asim V. Farooq
Dr. Asim V. Farooq is a Professor, Vice Chair for Academic Affairs, and Director of Medical Student Education in the University of Chicago Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency training at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, and a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Farooq has published approximately 70 peer-reviewed articles, 20 abstracts, and 10 book chapters, and has co-edited one textbook. His areas of clinical and research interest include ocular toxicity from targeted cancer drugs, corneal infections, and ocular graft-versus-host disease.
