Dr. Gavin Docherty

Dr. Gavin Docherty completed his medical school and residency at the University of British Columbia. He then went and completed a one year fellowship in Glaucoma and anterior segment surgery in Cumming School of Medicine, Calgary, AB. Following this he moved to Kelowna where he successfully started Interior Health’s first surgical glaucoma program at the Kelowna General Hospital. He continues to be involved in teaching medical students, ophthalmology residents and research. He has been covering an area of close to a million people for 5 years. His goals are to expand the glaucoma service for the region so that there will be better access, teaching and research.
