Dr. Claire Sheldon


Dr. Sheldon completed a combined MD/PhD degree (Physiology), followed by ophthalmology residency training, at the University of British Columbia.  She then went on to complete neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania.  She is currently Clinical Associate Professor, at the University of British Columbia, Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences.  She recently completed a 5-yr tenure as Ophthalmology Residency Program Director at UBC, at the completion of which she was awarded the PGME’s Outstanding Contribution Award 2023.  At present, Dr. Sheldon practices full-time sub-specialty neuro-ophthalmology, teaching learners of all stages while focussing on providing high-quality medical care and supporting patients & families through their visual journeys.
